Suffering & Grace

dontgiveup-237x300When we talk about suffering and the grace of God it’s important to remember: [ He Gets the Last Word ] Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

1 Peter 5: 8-11  The Message

…but we do see Jesus—who for a while was a little lower than the angels—crowned now by God with glory and honor because he suffered death for us. Yes, because of God’s great kindness, Jesus tasted death for everyone in all the world.

Hebrews 2:9  The Living Bible

When we look to the pain of our wounds, we see ourselves as wounded. But when we look to the pain of the cross, we see the wounds of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5), by which our Healer tells us that we are forever healed in him.

And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.
