Speak Your Words Through Me

The Lord God has given me his words of wisdom so that I may know what I should say to all these weary ones. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will. Isaiah 50: 4 TLB

Speak Your Words Through Me

Well, here we are. We come to the final prayer for our new beginning in our new year–Speak Your Words Through Me.

I hope this is the heart cry of every Christian writer. And, I can’t think of a finer promise for us to stand on than today’s promise.

Listen to the additional detail from The Voice version:

The Lord, the Eternal, equipped me for this job—with skilled speech, a smooth tongue for instruction. I can find the words that comfort and soothe the downtrodden, tired, and despairing. And I know when to use them. Each morning, it is God who wakes me and tells me what I should do, what I should say.

Our next series

As I have been prayerfully walking through this series myself, I have been asking God to show me, what is on His heart for our next series.

Speak Your Words Through Me

As a writer you often ponder many ideas, but you submit those ideas or thoughts to the Holy Spirit, seeking His smile on just the right one.

Yesterday, His smile showed up in a rather surprising way–a poem!

I wasn’t planning on, or even thinking about writing another poem.

But as I was in my latest learning session, (in a mentorship course I’m in ) I was encouraged to sit with the Holy Spirit, and ask Him the following:

“LORD, what do You want to say to Your people?”

(Okay, I LOVE this prayer, as I often pray it before I write.)

BUT… our instructor also gave us three word-prompts, and the word “worship” was the one that jumped out at me.

(As you know, worship is something we incorporate into almost every post we do here on woundresser.)

So, I asked, “LORD? Do You want me to write this new series on worship?”

And, “Voila!” a confirming word, to the words I had been pondering…
HEART CRIES

It begins with your heart–cries no one can hear

Your loneliness; heartaches; those isolating fears.

God hears what you can’t say–your cries in the night

When you wake in the darkness, amid turmoil, and fright.

God knows every longing, and He wants you to know

That He’s right here beside you–He’s telling you so!

Speak Your Words Through Me

If you’ll trust Him, and listen–He’ll turn every sigh

Into joyful expressions, He will use… by-n-by.

Yes, those dark days you’ve walked through–believing enemy’s lies

Will be used for His glory, healing other’s heartaches, and cries.
