During these tense days, and (sometimes) sleepless nights, I am so thankful that the Word of God is the bedrock for my life.
I was having another one of those “sleepless nights,” so this morning, I got up at 3:30 a.m. and picked up my bible.
I wanted to plant my feet someplace where I could stand with confidence–on something solid, that would reassure me, that I not only can walk confidently in today…
But also, that there will be plenty of HOPE in my tomorrow.
I found it!
Solid footing for today
Actually, I was led to two scriptures and I thought, “Great! One for my left foot, and one for my right.”

Both are found in Psalm 27.
The first scripture is for our today:
“I am expecting the Lord to rescue me again, so that once again I will see his goodness to me here in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13 TLB)
That, ladies and gentlemen, is solid footing for today.
When I don’t know what to do…
I can also find direction, with HOPE for tomorrow also in God’s word.

It is in the very next verse–and that verse is loaded–with hope and instructions.
“Don’t be impatient. Wait for the Lord, and he will come and save you! Be brave, stouthearted and courageous. Yes, wait and he will help you.” Psalm 27:14 TLB
How can I be brave, stouthearted, and courageous when I don’t know what to do?
I plant my feet on those two promises.
Yes, I will patiently wait for God’s help–because He knows what to do, and he has promised–his help is on the way!
So, my dear brothers, since future victory is sure, be strong and steady, always abounding in the Lord’s work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever wasted as it would be if there were no resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:58
