But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 39:17-18 KJV
Living Hope in this praise song is a noun, but today, I want to talk about “living hope” as a verb–something that by our living, requires us to exercise our spiritual muscles of faith and trust.

Frankly, it is easy to talk of walking with hope when all is bright and beautiful.
(No struggle there.)
But, when dark events surround you (as they did Jehoshaphat facing all those armies) and you are outnumbered by the hostile forces surrounding you?
Well, honestly, hope can get a little thin–if you focus on your enemies.
Digging In
When surrounded by dark forces, visible or invisible, you have to “dig in.”
You have to “hunker down” in your heart, grab on to the promise God has given you, and BELIEVE that the One you can’t see is exceedingly more powerful the the ones you can see.
- If God says He is for you?
- If God says the battle is His not yours?
Take hold on your Promise and don’t surrender no matter what!
God will have the last word
Never forget how powerful you are when you “…hope in God!”
