There once was a little girl…

Who grew up in a house full of people feeling sad…  and alone.

Growing up that way was hard. But through long empty years she held on to her DREAM that someday, somehow, somewhere, she would find something or someone who would transform her sadness into THE TRUE HAPPINESS her empty heart craved.

Finally the day arrived when she was pronounced—

So off she went—searching for PLACES. But each exciting new place left more and more space, tumbling around and around… on the inside.

So she tried… JOBS.

But each new success left her more of a mess…

So then she tried—MEN!

But each new bed she jumped in, left her shattered and broken…

Hey!

Maybe that holds some clues? But each bottle of booze made her sadder and lose…  even MORE of herself!

So she sat and she thought…

This looking for GLEE takes a lot out of me! So maybe I’ll look inside some great books!

Perhaps then I will find, through another’s great mind, THE HAPPINESS KEY to the one I call—ME!

But alas and alack, all her creeds would give back…

Was this ONE stingy piece of advice!

WELL…

inside she looked, in each cranny and nook; into each empty part—she looked DEEP in her heart. But things twisted and wound, and all that she found, was a bucket of sighs, a barrel of lies…

And this heartbroken cry:

Won’t someone come, please…

And just love me for…

(SO HE DID!)

So Jesus used this illustration: “If you had a hundred sheep and one of them strayed away and was lost in the wilderness, wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it?  And then you would joyfully carry it home on your shoulders.  When you arrived you would call together your friends and neighbors to rejoice with you because your lost sheep was found.

“Well, in the same way heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who haven’t strayed away!
