Victory and Confidence Comes From Him Alone

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2  NLT

“Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing.”    ― Barry Finlay, Kilimanjaro and Beyond

Where does victory come from?

When the climb in life gets hard (and it always does if it’s something worth doing) then is when you have to know where your victory and confidence is coming from.

Blogging is no different.

I have learned a great deal since I began this blog.

For one thing I learned that there is a great deal to learn.

I discovered I needed to learn many technical terms I’d never heard before.

I needed to know HOW things work and how they don’t!

I have learned when to plug away and not give up.

And when to pick up the phone and humbly ask for help.

Yes, I have learned a great deal on the technical side—mostly just HOW MUCH I don’t know and probably never will!

I am eternally grateful for all the patient help I have received.

There are so many kind people who want to help.

Friendly people, who come alongside to cheer you on and bolster your fledgling confidence, are immensely appreciated.

I have also learned there are people who celebrate your failures—sad souls who seem to relish dispensing heaping helpings of discouragement whenever and wherever they can.

Where those folks come from has been an eye opener for sure!

But, knowing WHO you can trust, and who you can’t has proved most valuable.

Finally, your trust and confidence must remain rock solid in the One who calls you and has promised to perfect what concerns you.

It is God who quietly listens to each prayer and knows your heart and motives inside out.

He alone—is my rock and salvation; my fortress where I shall never be shaken.

My victory comes from Him!

In the end…

Perhaps the most important thing this experience has taught me is to celebrate even the smallest of victories.

If God is counting the hairs on my head, and keeps a running tally on cups of water? (And He does!) Then, to God, NOTHING is too small to CELEBRATE in His Kingdom!

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

So many enemies against one man—all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence. They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts.

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. Psalm 62:1-7 NLT
