Which Way To Destiny?

“Without God, life has no purpose, and without purpose, life has no meaning. Without meaning, life has no significance or hope.” ― Rick Warren

I maintain that the first step to finding our destiny is to establish an intimate relationship, a face to face, a heart to heart relationship with God.

Without Him life has little meaning.

Obviously you can have dreams of wealth and fame, and you might even achieve them, but without God as the foundation for those things to stand on?

I believe life collapses.

You don’t have to search very hard to find folks who went after their dreams of riches and renown, and yet ended up on the scrap pile with their lives in ruins.

So, yes, I agree with Rick Warren. If you want to live a meaningful life of significance and purpose, if you want to make a lasting and noble difference in this world? Your path to “God’s destined purpose” will look different.

I love the movie Facing The Giants.

In the movie the coach decides his struggling team needs a “new philosophy” to turn their losing streak around and become winners…

So he asks the question, “What is the PURPOSE of this team?”

What are you living for?

It’s a great question isn’t it?

One that requires some real soul searching.

Having a dream is wonderful—but I believe a dream without God’s purpose goes nowhere. A dream that is wrapped up in getting more and more stuff so we can “look good” is in a word—empty.

I want to live a life that has meaning for myself and gives hope and help to others.

I want to know why I was put here, and then BELIEVE, that I can live out that reason through God’s destined purpose designed specifically for me.

So, “Which way to destiny?”

God says in Hebrews 11:6,

You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him. [TLB]

Jesus Himself made our “believing” a condition for our receiving great things,

In reply Jesus said to the disciples, “If you only have faith in God—this is the absolute truth—you can say to this Mount of Olives, ‘Rise up and fall into the Mediterranean,’ and your command will be obeyed. All that’s required is that you really believe and have no doubt! [Mark 11: 22-23 TLB]

I want to move any mountains that are standing in the way of my believing God for EVERYTHING He has planned for me.

Who wants to go with me?
