The abc’s of Believing: H – Honor

Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7 NLT

The season of gift giving has come!

Hurray!

And, I believe God has five gifts of Grace, that He wants you to have under your tree because..

Your time has come!

The a,b,c's of Believing

Yes! It is the time of year when we decorate our houses, put up our Christmas trees, and begin the countdown to that special day of celebrating the birth of Jesus our Savior.

But, besides all the presents that family and friends may give you? Jesus and I, hope you will tuck these five Bible promises for your heart, under your tree as well.

The first gift of Grace, we want you to receive the promise, “…that your days of mourning will end.”

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.” Isaiah 54:10-11

“… and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” Isaiah 60:20

Your second gift of Grace is this promise:

I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me. Psalm 142: 5-7

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13

Your third gift of Grace is God’s gracious gift of Substitution.

God not only declares to you, that the days of your mourning shall end, and that you will see His goodness in the land of the living, but He also declares,

He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of God’s favor to them has come, and the day of his wrath to their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel he will give…

beauty for ashes; joy instead of mourning; praise instead of heaviness… “

Isaiah 61: 2-3

There is power in your praises.

I believe strongly in the power of praise!

Perhaps, that is why on both of my blogs, I try to end each post with a song of praise to the LORD.

Therefore, your fourth gift of Grace is the promise…

“Yet I know that you are most holy; it’s indisputable. You are God-Enthroned, surrounded with songs, living among the shouts of praise of your princely people.”  Psalm 22: 3 The Passion Translation

Could this be why God commands the barren to sing?

“Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 54: 1

Perhaps, it is our praise that ushers in the deliverance of God.

After all, didn’t God say to Jehoshaphat that he would not need to fight the battle facing him?

So, believing God, Jehoshaphat sent out the singers first!

You can find the story in 2 Chronicles 20.

Your fifth gift of Grace for your heart is this…

The promise of double portions of HONOR for your former shame!

“For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” Isaiah 61: 7

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.    Isaiah 60: 1
