Assignment From Heaven

You have been put here on this earth with an assignment from heaven.

That is why you were created.

All the stuff that has happened since the day you were born, is yours to use, if you choose to.

Not just the good stuff–the bad stuff, too.

Why the bad stuff?

The simple answer is that, those bad things that happened, will be “the stuff” most people will identify with–and where they will find HOPE.

(Because bad stuff happens to all of us!)

LYRICS: Wanted, by Danny Gokey

The choice has always been (and always will be) yours alone.

You can believe that you are a victim (and always will be) or, you can decide, “I am an OVERCOMER! No matter what has happened to me, I will surrender all of it to God–for His ultimate glory, and to help others.”

From the beginning…

You had a deadly enemy, whether you realized it, or not.

Assignment From Heaven

He had one goal–to stop you–by whatever means necessary from completing your assignment.

Part of his diabolical design, was to make you believe that, that “giving up” decision, was your choice.

He’ll use anything destructive, but his main weapons are lies, discouragement, and fear.

Fear works best.

(Think about it!)

Fear of pain, fear of abandonment, fear of loss, the list is endless.

But from the beginning, Jesus intended to derail your enemies plans with one simple message:

  • GGod says, “I LOVE you.”
  • R – People have rejected you–but I came to lay down My life for you.
  • A – I always wanted you.
  • C – You have been CHOSEN by Me, for a purpose, and a destiny.
  • E – I AM eternal–The Omnipotent One–I AM more powerful than any of your enemies!
You are part of God’s “overcoming” vision

The first step (once you have turned your life over to Jesus) is to believe His word:

“Before I shaped you in the womb,
    I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day,
I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations—
that’s what I had in mind for you.” Jeremiah 1: 5 The Message

Assignment From Heaven

A prophet speaks.

(That’s simplicity in itself!)

Most of us can speak–and for those of us who can’t–technology has intervened on our behalf.

Once you have chosen to trust your life to Jesus Christ, God’s destiny for you, will take the lead.

There are also His gifts, that come to you as part of your spiritual inheritance, and they are given to enhance your destined purpose.

These you will use in combination with your history, your own unique personality and temperament, and the Holy Spirit’s guidance for you personally, and for your life-purpose specifically.

I like the succinct way Ravi Zacharias said this:

“God the Grand Weaver seeks those with tender hearts so that he can put his imprint on them. Your hurts and your disappointments are part of that design, to shape your heart and the way you feel about reality. The hurts you live through will always shape you. There is no other way.” ―Ravi Zacharias, The Grand Weaver: How God Shapes Us Through the Events of Our Lives

Only God turns BROKEN into BLESSING!

I wish I could breathe “believing” into your heart, but since I can’t, and all I have are words? I am going to share some awesome words with you that changed the whole course of my life.

(Yeah, words can do that.)

In his book Unwritten, Charles Martin gave us the gift of a story–a story of how believing breathes life back into our hearts, from a Holy-Spirit-God, who longs to turn our broken into blessing:

“…somewhere in that intersection of broken hearts and shattered souls… broken is not the end of things, but the beginning. Maybe broken is what happens before you become unbroken. What’s more, maybe our broken pieces don’t fit us… maybe my pieces are the very pieces needed to mend you and your pieces are the very pieces needed to mend me, but until we’ve been broken we don’t have the pieces to mend each other. Maybe in the offering we discover the meaning, and value of being broken. Maybe…somewhere on the planet is another somebody standing around holding a bag of all the jagged, painful pieces of themselves and they can’t get whole without you… Maybe love, the real kind, the kind only wished for in whispers and the kind our hearts are hardwired to want, is opening up the bag of you… And what’s more, they don’t cost you anything. They’re free. I paid for them in the breaking… And because you’re desperate, and you’ve tried most everything else, you empty my bag across the floor… and…find the one piece you’ve been missing… And when you insert that piece into the puzzle that had become you, it stops the hemorrhage, and for the first time in maybe your whole life, the wound starts to heal.”

STORY is powerful!
Assignment From Heaven

YOU, have a story to tell.

It’s time.

Your journey into joy begins with a simple step of courage and trust.

Ask Jesus Christ into your heart–and then, surrender your story.

You were created for this!

“Story is the bandage of the broken. Sutures of the shattered. The tapestry upon which we write our lives. Upon which we lay the bodies of the dying and the about-to-come-to-life. And if it’s honest, true, hiding nothing, revealing all, then it is a raging river and those who ride it find they have something to give—that they are not yet empty.”

–Charles Martin, Unwritten
