For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. Psalm 18: 28 KJV
Enlighten is one of those words I have to look up to know exactly what it means.
Here’s what Google had to say:

Verb: give (someone) greater knowledge and understanding about a subject or situation. Give someone spiritual insight or knowledge.
Similar: inform, make aware, notify, tell, advise, let know, illuminate, open someone’s eyes, apprise, explain the situation to, explain the circumstances to, brief, update, give details to, give information to, bring up to date, clue in, fill input, wise tip off, put in the picture, bring up to speed.
(Okay then, I’d say that totally covers it!)
Keen-eyed or “eagle-eyed” clarity

And this is what I want.
I am asking God to enlighten my eyes for 2020.
These are the desires of my heart that keep me asking for wisdom from above.
(These are the requests that keep me on my knees!)
I need God’s wisdom, direction, and viewpoint—because only He knows the future.
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
Father,
As we step out into what You have for us in this new year, will you enlighten our vision to see exactly where You would have us to walk.
May our focus be on You and Your Word.
May our view of heavenly purpose and kingdom goals be unimpaired.
We need our spiritual eyes to be clear; undistracted from lesser things.
So, we look to You alone.
Thank you for instructing us, and showing us clearly the paths to follow. [Psalm 32:8]
In Jesus Name we give You all the praise and thanks for You are our Way Maker,
Amen.
For since the world began no one has seen or heard of such a God as ours, who works for those who wait for him! Isaiah 64:4 TLB
