On My Knees

Then a hand touched me and set me on my hands and knees. I was so afraid that I was shaking. The man in the vision said to me, “Daniel, God loves you very much... Then the man said to me, “Daniel, do not be afraid. Some time ago you decided to get understanding and to humble yourself before your God. Since that time God has listened to you, and I have come because of your prayers. Daniel 10: 10-12 NCV

On My Knees

When you don’t know what to do, or which way to turn, God is there–waiting to hear your voice.

Really, that is all that prayer is; coming to a bend in the road where you need help from a source beyond yourself.

It might not feel great, but actually?

This, is where HOPE is found.

When your knees hit the ground–that’s the beginning to finding the way UP.

That is when the God of Hope shows up to revive and refresh you!

In Psalm Forty, the psalmist writes,

I waited a long time for the Eternal; He finally knelt down to hear me. He listened to my weak and whispered cry. He reached down and drew me from the deep, dark hole where I was stranded, mired in the muck and clay. With a gentle hand, He pulled me out To set me down safely on a warm rock; He held me until I was steady enough to continue the journey again. As if that were not enough, because of Him my mind is clearing up. Now I have a new song to sing—a song of praise to the One who saved me. Because of what He’s done, many people will see and come to trust in the Eternal. [vs. 1-3 The Voice]

Help from heaven

There is something about coming to the end of yourself that draws the attention of God, and brings help from heaven.

Knees Hit The Ground

Jim Cymbala said, “God is attracted to weakness. He can’t resist those who humbly and honestly admit how desperately they need Him.”

I used to live in the “D” pit.

  • Discouraged
  • Depressed
  • Defeated

Then, one day out of sheer desperation, my heart cried out to God for His help. I said, “Lord, I can’t live this way anymore!”

We don’t like desperation do we?

Yet, when I am desperate; when I can’t find the answers I need; that’s when I run to God, reaching out to Him for the help and encouragement I need.

Invitation to God’s presence

Why not invite God’s power into your present darkness?

Heart cries for help and hope
On My Knees

God knows just how to bring us to the end of ourselves.

He knows the exact moment when we have run out of answers to life’s dilemmas; when our hope tank is on fumes.

That is when our heart’s will cry out to Him.

And, you know what?

He will be there.

“I, yes I, am the one who comforts you.
So why are you afraid of mere humans,
who wither like the grass and disappear?
Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator,
the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy
and laid the foundations of the earth.
Will you remain in constant dread of human oppressors?
Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies?
Where is their fury and anger now?
    It is gone!
Soon all you captives will be released!
Imprisonment, starvation, and death will not be your fate!
For I am the Lord your God,
who stirs up the sea, causing its waves to roar.
My name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Isaiah 51:12-15 NLT

Knees Hit The Ground

“She (my mother) became a warrior far superior to any epic hero. She became a giant on her knees. With a sword in one hand she battled the enemies of death and disease, and with her other hand stretched toward heaven she kept beseeching God’s help and His mercy.”
