There’s a book I want you to read.
(After you read this post you’ll see why.)
It isn’t very big in terms of size.
(I read it in one day.)
But… the challenge it calls you to is in a word, HUGE.
Where to now?
That is the question that kept rolling around and around inside my head.
With all that is happening, all the uncertainty and unanswered questions, where is the next step?

And, that is THE QUESTION I kept coming back to:
“God? Where to now? Which direction? What do You want to say to Your people?”
And you know what?
After I had researched many possibilities, only two words remained after tossing away this good idea, and then that one…
Faith is…
Those two words from Hebrews 11:1 were the ones that kept whispering to my heart.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. KJV
The Living Bible fleshes out the meaning for us:
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
Where are we headed?
None of us are quite sure are we?

Most of us (especially in the West) haven’t been this way before.
Things look all whompy and topsy-turvy… but of this much, I am certain. God does not change. [Malachi 3:6]
This planet is changing at a pace that, frankly? Sometimes, scares me to death! But, God? No. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. [Hebrews 13:8]
So, for the next few weeks anyway, we are going to dig deeper into what brings us to stable footing in unstable times–where “faith is.”
One more thing…
Can I remind you again? Nothing about your destiny or purpose in this world has changed.

Your circumstances certainly have, but your destination; the purposes of God? [Ephesians 1:3-10 The Message] The plans God has for you? [Jeremiah 29:11-14 The Voice]
Those remain constant in the heart of the Father.
Therefore, in our present “time-out” I am asking you to read the book, The Lost Choice by Andy Andrews. ($2.99 on Amazon Kindle.)
It is a wonderful roller coaster ride using fiction, mixed with history, mixed with hidden Biblical truths.
(Spoiler Alert…)
And, I hope you will forgive me, but before you begin, here is the “challenge” for you from the end of the story. I am sharing it “up front” in hopes that it will encourage your heart, now–and that you will see it as God’s challenge to YOU personally.
(May it convince you that you really do need to, “Read this story.”)
Excerpt and challenge from: The Lost Choice
I made you different from the others on the planet earth.
There has never been one like you and there never will be again. Your spirit, your thoughts, and feelings; your ability to reason all exist in no one else. Your eyes are a masterpiece, incomparable, and windows to a soul that is also uniquely yours. A single strand of your hair has been created especially for you. Of the multitude who have come before you, and the multitudes who may follow, not one of them duplicates the formula with which I made you.

I made you different from the others. The blood that flows through your veins, flows through the heart of one whom I have chosen. The rarities that make you one of a kind my child, are not mere accident, or work of fate. I made you different in order that you might make a difference. You have been created with the ability to change the world.
Every single choice you make; every single action you take, matters. But remember the converse is also true–every choice you do not make; every action you do not take, matters just as much. Your actions cannot be hoarded, saved for later, or used selectively.
By your hand millions of lives will be altered; caught up in a chain of events begun by you this very day. But the opposite is true as well. Millions of lives are also altered; caught up in a chain of events if you choose to wait. You possess the power of choice; free will. You have been given every thing you need to act, but the choice is yours alone. And, beginning this very moment, you will choose wisely.
Now go–and never feel inadequate again. Do not dwell in thoughts of insignificance, or wander aimlessly lost like a sheep. You’re powerful. You matter–and you have been found.
You are My choice.
Your Father
